    Description

    BASIC KUMIHIMO STARTER KIT
    Includes 2 Braiding Plates, 8 Bobbins and 20' of Satin Cord
    2 KUMIHIMO PLATES ~ One Round & One Square
    Round: 6 inches in Diameter
    Square: 5-1/2 inches x 5-1/2 inches
    Both plates are made of quality, 3/8" thick, dense foam.
    These do not include instructions.
    ROUND:
    Diameter is 6" across, with 32 slots that are numbered.
    The circular disk plate generally produces a round braid.
    SQUARE:
    Each side measures 5-1/2" in length, with 10 slots that are numbered or lettered for ease of use.
    The square plate produces both a round and a flat braid.
    Includes a set of detailed printed instructions for each plate.
    These braids can be used for necklaces, bracelets, pet leashes, lanyards, key holders: endless possibilities!
    PLUS 8 1-3/4" BOBBINS
    These bobbins are a light weight and flexible platic for storage of cord and thread.
    Perfect for Kumihimo braiding when you are manipulating 8-16 strands.
    The top folds over the thread after you have it wound on the bobbin.
    They also snap together so you can keep your inventory organized!
    AND 20 Feet of Satin Cord ~ I will choose randomly unless you specify

    Kumihimo is the Japanese word for braiding (kumi = to braid, himo = cord).
    It encompasses many types and shapes of braids done in many different methods with the aid of many different tools.
    Traditionally Kumihimo is done with dyed silk threads, although you can use everything from silk thread to nylon cord to colored ribbons and yard, even colored wire!
